Earthbenders
The proud strong spirit of the Earth Kingdom embodies Earthbending, which uses the ground as a weapon against as opponent. Exceptionally muscular, Earthbenders use their strength to overpower opponents. To throw an enemy off balance, an Earthbender physically strikes the ground with his hands or feet, causing localized earthquakes. To dodge an attack, an Earthbender uses the earth as a catapult to buck his body high into the air, and then upon returning to the ground, he softens the earth, easing his landing. Additional moves include creating fissures as traps for enemies to fall in, and raising slabs of stone for defense and offense. An Earthbender attacks by levitating stones and then propelling them at his enemy. Earthbenders also possess the ability to 'magnetize' their limbs to stone, allowing them to scale shear walls and cliffs. A high level maneuver reduces solid ground to quicksand, providing a pitfall for approaching enemies. Earthbending's most significant weakness is its inability to manipulate man-altered metals. Firebenders exploit this weakness by smelting metal to remove its natural impurities, and then using it to construct their armor, ships, and forts.Earthbender's bios
Tyro is the father of Haru,
he is an advance Earthbender who has all the characteristic of a leader. Tyro
is an advance Earthbender who could even possibly be the chief of his villiage.
He appeared in Imprisoned the sixth episode of Book one. He was capture leading
a battle against the Firenation when they invaded his mining villiage. He was
then taken away to a shipyard located in the middle of the ocean where he had
no contact with his family for five years. With no earth around for him or the
fellow earthbenders to bend he gave up hope for rebeling. That change when his
son Haru got captured. Following his son captured the Avatar with his friends
appear to save the imprisoned Earthbenders. After being rescued Tyro is now leading
the other capture Earthbenders into battle to reclaim his villiage and all the
other villiages captured by the Firenation.
Haru is pretty the much
the most prominent Earthbender feature on the show thus far. When you think of
Earthbender's his face appears. Haru appear in Imprisoned the sixth episode of
Book one. Haru is an amateur Earthbender who skills isn't refined yet because
of the absence of his father who also happens of be a teacher. His father was
taken by the Firebenders when they invaded his village and so were the other Earthbenders.
Haru practices his bending in secret at a gorge near his town in fear of being
found out by the Firebenders. Sadly though he was found out when using his Earthbending
to save a man's life and was then taken away to a shipyard located in the middle
of the ocean so that none of the benders may use their arts. His stay at the shipyard
wasn't long, the Avatar Aang with his friends Sokka and Katara managed to free
everyone on the shipyard. Haru returned home to his village afterward parting
ways with the Avatar, chances are he would probably appear again in some future
episode. One last interesting fact he likes Katara.
King Bumi is an advance
Earthbender probably the strongest one shown so far, he rules the city of Omashu.
Bumi appeared in The City of Omashu the fifth episode of Book one. He is probably
around 112 years old and was friends with Aang before he became trapped in the
iceberg. He views the world differently then most people he just out to have a
good time which is rare because of the century long war with the Firenation that's
going on.
Avatar Kyoshi lived 400
years ago and is the Avatar prior to Roku, who is the Avatar before Aang. She
was born on a small island which was later renamed in her honor. Though she lived
four hundred years ago her memory still lives on with her fighting technique that
is still being used by the female warriors that live on the island today.
